Along with the deeply reforming of the power market, the competition among the power plants has become more and more drastic, the core competence will be the source that the power plant obtains sustainable competitive advantage. After comprehensive consideration of four factors including enterprise resource, technological capability, system competence and management capability, this paper combines the analytic hierarchy process and grey correlation analysis, constructs a feasible evaluation index system of power plants' core competence, all these provide a basis for the power plant checking its core competence. Finally, an example is used to prove this method is good and practical.
