License plate recognition (LPR) is the hot research topic in intelligent transportation systems. This paper focuses on license plate location which is based on image energy and license plate character recognition based on pattern matching, and then gives experiment results of license plate recognition system. And experiment results verify the feasibility of the LPR system.
