As a model to provide semantic meaning through relations between concepts, ontology can resolve the problems of sharing and reuse of design knowledge. Based on the innovation design progress and knowledge structure of the complex products, an ontology construction method is proposed with the cycling evolutional theory. The application domain of the satellite ontology is analyzed. According to the analysis result, the knowledge structure of satellite ontology is put forward based on OWL (Ontology Web Language). Finally, the knowledge Modeling method based on ontology is verified by applying to the satellite design as an example.
