Petroleum is an important strategic material which is connected to the vitals and safety of the national economy. In this paper the particular characteristics of the supply chain of petroleum enterprises is summarized. The limitations of the methods of traditional supplier selection, and brought forward the project of construction of case based reasoning system (CBR) of supplier selection based on data mining are analyzed. The advantages, practicability and validity of this project via case study is demonstrated.
