Aimed towards dedicated and embedded real time applications, the On_Time environment consists of the high level real time language Pearl, a source code oriented test system, and the portable real time operating system Portos. Some enhancements of Pearl with regard to process control applications introduced, making it possible to express all process control programs fully in terms of this language. The operating system Portos supports all these new language features, which can be implemented on conventional computers
