The asymptotic performance analysis is presented for selective fixed decode-and-forward (DF) cooperation over independent but not identically distributed Nakagami-m fading channels. A tractable closed-form average bit error probability expression is derived at the high signal-to-noise ratio region. The presented expression is quite simple and general for cooperative systems with an arbitrary number of DF relays and fading environment with arbitrary values of severity parameters m??0.5.
