We propose a control IC for boost converter based on new strategies. There are three strategies; ultralow-voltage input, operating energy of the boost converter used proposed IC powered by own output, and maximum power point tracking (MPPT). The boost converter starts at 0.36 V by using the proposed IC and operates with a single solar cell. The power generated by the photovoltaic module with the proposed IC is about 1.4 times higher because the MPPT works well. The photovoltaic module with the proposed IC shows superior performance compared with the conventional one.
