Analytical solutions using the method of self‐similar solution of partial differential equations are obtained for the inhomogeneous diffusion equation (∂ρ/∂t)-(∂/∂x)[D0xm (∂ρ/∂x)]=0. Several diffusion problems found in plasma physics are characterized by this equation.
