In wireless personal area networks (WPANs), a successful design of scheduling scheme is critical for video traffic in QoS guarantee and efficient channel resource utilization. In this paper, we propose a novel cross-layer scheduling scheme for MPEG traffic in high speed WPANs. The scheme aims at introducing robust improvements to MPEG traffic scheduling by taking most advantages of traffic characteristic and wireless channel effect. It benefits from the ideas of a well-defined channel parameter and a flow eligibility filter. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms conventional scheduling schemes in QoS guarantee and resources utilization efficiency.
