This work proposes a surveillance system based on a multi-cameras configuration. The proposed system is organized in a distributed network, and each subnet of the network contains the static cameras in charge of monitoring of global view and active cameras for tracking target closely to get more information. The managing agents control all the static and active cameras in the subnet when tracking multi targets. The system can detect suspected people via an entrance-security agent, and the detected information is sent to other security agents to keep tracking the target for a wide range of area through the Internet. Besides, the design of the agent core is modularized, so the replacement or addition of new surveillance functions is convenient for the system manager.
