With the advancement of information technology and the further popularization of computer education, the undergraduate education of computer information technology is facing a new challenge. Taking into consideration the current teaching situation of this course, the student-oriented role-shift teaching model is constructed. Taking Carl Rogerspsila non-directive teaching theory as the theoretical foundation, the teaching model partly shifts the center of teaching and learning from the teacher to students in the hope of coping with the specific conditions of Chinapsilas undergraduate freshmen and programming language course. The current investigation proves that this model is an effective solution to the problems existing with this course and largely promotes the teaching efficiency.
