A tri-band dual-port CPW-fed slot antenna is designed, built and measured. The performance of the proposed antenna meets the impedance bandwidths of 802.11a/b/g bands and 3.5 GHz WiMAX band. Using shorted metal in the slots and embedding lump elements, an antenna size of 28.2 times 21.4 mm2 is achieved. The proposed antenna is cost-effective, simple and compact with stable gains in all bands. These features make the proposed antenna suitable for applications of tri-band wireless communication systems.
