A data acquisition system for an electron-beam welder has been designed and fabricated. The data acquisition system has been used for precise doc umentation of weld variables, storage of the data and subsequent statistic al analysis of the data. Observation of the data during weld studies has shown that some maintenance was needed by the welder. The accuracy with w hich we can monitor the weld parameters is significantly better than that available with existing metering. (AIP)
