The over-voltage of 220 kV power system appeared during the commissioning of several traction transformers in Jilin Province. Analysis showed that the electromagnetic oscillating of the system caused the over-voltage of the feeding phases. After setting up an accurate simulating model used in ATP-EMTP, the adverse influence on the electric power system and the character of the oscillation over-voltage had been studied. Results showed that under the environment of these substations the amplitude of the over-voltage couldn't exceed 2.0 p.u and would have little influence on electric power system.
