The performance of the conventional LMS adaptive filter used for co-channel interference suppression degrades when the desired signal and the interference have similar characteristics. The authors propose a technique that uses a self-organising feature map to track the interference statistics, which are then used by the LMS adaptive filter to reject the interference. Simulation results and an analysis of the weight error power are presented
