The goal of the original paper was to develop a novel FM demodulator based on a Gilbert multiplier that can operate with a single 1.2 V battery. In this Comment the author suggests that the original paper contained some errors and that the cell developed was not at all novel and is actually very well known. A reply by the original authors is included
