Implementation of a fuzzy logic based power system stabilizer using the general purpose low cost Intel 8051FA microcontroller is described in this paper. Results of extensive on-line tests performed for a variety of disturbances and operating conditions are presented. These results amply demonstrate the effectiveness of the fuzzy logic based stabilizer
