This discussion moves from A. Kaplan's view of information as the formal structure of ideas to Mead's view of intersubjective communication, and thence to Popper's overview of reality. It presents a model of librarianship, identifies its components with K.R. Popper's three worlds, and concludes that librarianship is a technology of intellection not a technology of action
