Yogi Berra, the famous baseball catcher, is reported to have said, "It's tough to make predictions, especially about the future." My rejoinder to that is that making predictions isn't hard at all. It's just tough to make ones that turn out to be right. With these ground rules established, we will try to predict the future of signal processing, with the intent of being able to use those predictions to do some intelligent planning.
