The novel application of CCC technology in the slip energy recovery drive system (SERDS) is proposed for an improvement of the susceptibility of the inverter to commutation failure, reducing the reactive power consumption and a good power factor. In this paper, the reason of commutation failure is analyzed, simulation model with proposed commutated capacitors between the inverter bridge and the inverter transformer in SERDS are set up and it demonstrate that the method for mitigating commutation failure is effective, simple and feasible.
