To reduce the repeated work during the configuration design of injection molding machine and to improve the configuration design efficiency of the product which is complex, single-designed and individual, the method of configuration design based on instances is adopted to realize the design BOM of non-standard machine. By analyzing the configuration design characteristics of injection molding machine, the available special functions are categorized and organized. The special functions are decided by the clients. The method is realized in “HTMC Product Configuration Management System” in Ningbo Haitian Ltd. And the system is integrated into the Kingdee K3 ERP software to share the information. The design BOM of non-standard machine is composed of the BOM of standard machine and the difference BOM of special functions. Propositional projects will be given to avoid wrong design when the special functions selected by clients are interferential. The information of non-standard machine which accords with the demands and has been designed already is displayed real time. It is demonstrated to show that such method is effective to avoid wrong design, repeat work and data redundancy.
