A typical multi-distributed-generation microgrid system (MDGMGS) is composed of renewable energy generation systems including wind, photovoltaic, biomass etc., and fuel cells, energy storage and local loads. Because of MDGMGSpsila inherent characteristics, energy management system (EMS) for MDGMGS will meet such new challenges as: more active network management needed to realize the multi-energy supply, multi-energy complement and maximum utility of energy; dispatching strategies and schedules which cannot be arranged in advance as in traditional power systems because of fluctuation of renewable energy; much heavier burden on information management because of multi-generation technologies. In this paper, an IEC 61970-based information integration and software frame of EMS for MDGMGS is presented by incorporating the successful application experience of IEC 61970 to power systems and adopting object-oriented program techniques. The aim of this is to develop the EMS that can be transferred and plugged in the current EMS for power systems when it is needed and to reduce the burden of information management.
