A new dissipative method to design observers for a large class of nonlinear systems has been introduced recently by the author. It generalizes and includes several well-known observer design methods in the literature. In this paper a procedure to design proportional-integral observers based on the dissipativity theory is presented. Properties of these observers are discussed.
