The problem of time-harmonic radiation from sources in the presence of a horizontally stratified chiral slab has been developed by formulating the relevant dyadic Green's functions. These Green's functions characterize the reflection and transmission properties of a horizontally stratified (i.e., vertically piecewise constant) chiral slab of finite thickness and infinite lateral extent. Once these Green's functions are known, shielding calculations can be made for arbitrary sources. This problem is of interest for the purpose of electromagnetic shielding by artificial chiral materials active at microwave frequencies
