Traditional culture is the source of cultural connotations of design. Based on the traditional Chinese culture reflected and semantic component adopted in "Beijing Olympics", this paper expounds the connection between traditional cultural elements and modern design, and further more, discusses what modern design should do to enhance cultural connotations by the use of traditional cultural elements, and to realize the inheritance, the development and the renovation of traditional culture.
