The decision support system(DSS) as one kind smart software system of the important application value, provides each kind of decision information as well as the commercial question solution for the enterprise. Thus it reduced the superintendent to be engaged in the low level information processing and the analysis burden, and the DSS caused them to dedicate most needs the decisions wisdom and the experience work, therefore improved the decisions quality and the efficiency. The system is born of the DSS of a metal limited company. The paper studies on the development of a DSS based on the structure of Client/server, including the interfaces between the software of DSS and the practical and special matters of the company. During the development of the software, the principles of software engineering are followed by the system, and the module method is used. The technique of data warehouse (DW) is also used in the development of DSS. Through the tracing, maintenance, it shows that the system has been developed reasonably and has run effectively. Under the web environment the system runs stably, and has the good practicability, friendly interface and good safety. It is also capable of improving the scientific policy ability of companies.
