This paper presents analysis of the influence of virtualization mechanism of pSeries servers on dynamic resources allocation on AIX 5L. This paper raises in issues of economic use of resources and distribution of processing power of pSeries server. Some innovative solutions are proposed as methods of dynamic resources allocation. These are: micro-partitioning and partition load manager utility. Some results of experiments are presented, whose goal was to estimate the influence of selected adjustment of AIX 5L on its efficiency.
