This paper describes a method to calculate the coupling impedances between circular flat coils placed in parallel planes and located between two multilayer media. The coupling impedances are evaluated using a onefold integral expression based on Bessel functions. This analytical integral function depends on the geometrical system parameters and the physical properties of the media, such as electrical conductivity and magnetic permeability. Numerical results are calculated using a general purpose computational tool. Finally, the proposed model has been validated by means of experimental measurements.
