Recently many researches have been focused on heterogeneous cooperative wireless networks in both academy and industry. This paper gives a comprehensive study of resource scheduling techniques for next generation heterogeneous cooperative wireless networks. Specifically, we study the cooperative nodes selection, cooperative power allocation, cooperative scheduling algorithms and handover management in the heterogeneous wireless networks. Finally we give the future development of heterogeneous cooperative wireless network.
