Based on RS data, statistical data and field survey, the paper analyzed the characteristics of arable land changes in Daye County from 1991 to 2000, and researched its driving mechanism from 3D perspective of natural basic-action mechanism, Socio-economic development-oriented mechanism, groups and individuals' decision-making mechanism. In the process of study, both quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis are used.
