Combining with ontology theory and the classification of product design knowledge domain, an OWL ontology-based product design knowledge model is proposed. Based on this model, Protege is corresponded to establish related domain ontology of product design knowledge. This model is successfully applied to manufacturing product design, and as verified, it's an effective solution to help the manufacturing enterprises shorten product design cycles and improve the product development quality. Furthermore, it's much better for designer to share and reuse product design knowledge.
