This paper presents an improved circuit prototype for a buck chopper type single phase PFC-AC/DC converter, which has smaller reactor size and lighter weight, and minimize DC output voltage ripple factor characteristic with two specific loop feedback control strategy. In addition, this active PFC-AC/DC converter can be suppressed the current harmonics in utility AC grid line sensorless specific feedback control scheme. The novel circuit configuration treated here is more suitable for a variety of industrial power supplies as well as telecommunication and information equipment power supplies, where the lightning protection is particularly considered to be more effective for 48V-10A output specification design. In this paper, the operating principle of proposed AC-DC converter circuit using power MOSFETs is described and its two related loop control implementations are demonstrated along with its simulation and experimental evaluations. The extended PFC-AC/DC converter topologies operated on the bass of the working are demonstrated, which include the proposed control scheme.
