Recent development in mobile communications and computer technologies and electronics has made the wireless mobile self-organized networking come into use. This enable distributed mobile sensor networking become practical. Ad hoc networks and sensor networks are two hotspots in the field between computer and communication science. In this paper we put forward that Ad hoc networks and sensor networks are tied tightly. It can be studied as the same network which we called the ad hoc & sensor networks (ASN). This paper discusses an ASN's architecture and an interlayer adaptation between ad hoc and sensor layers
