Forest resource planning systems provide the infrastructure and tools needed to establish effective forest management. The present resource planning system only provides past records for decision making. In this paper, the Web-based data mining technique is applied to the decision making of forest resource planning. The proposed system makes use of the three-tier Web service architecture, gives employees an intuitive Web interface to access and manage information, and integrates the internal operations. Analysis tools are provided to help the staff make administrative decisions. The solution provides the users with an office automation module, a decision support module, an internal audit module and a system integrator module. This forest resource planning system provides an integrated solution to interconnect each system within an organization.
