We most readily associate the idea of robots competing at sport with machines built to human-size, or at least human- scale. Honda's Asimo, Sony's Aibo and the 'house' hatchet-lady Matilda from TV's 'Robot Wars' spring to mind. The capabilities of these larger machines have advanced at a tremendous rate, keeping them in the public eye.
