The impulsive UWB pulses require extremely high sampling rates as well as accurate timing synchronization. Such coherent transceivers as RAKE are too complicated for current applications. The low complexity receiver provides the first commercially feasible solution to a broad class of low-data-rate applications. One approach is time reversed UWB communication as an alternative to coherent reception. In this paper spatial and temporal focusing of time reversal based on experimental and simulation results are shown. It is seen that TR-UWB improves the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and reduces the intersymbol interference (ISI). Finally SISO & MISO TR-UWB performance for optimum receiver is analyzed and simulated. Comparisons of analytical and experimental results show that the performances are approximately the same.
