The paper describes some recent technical trends in the design of television receivers. It reviews the factors that influence the specification of a modern television chassis, and identifies the main features which are incorporated into it to suport an appropriate product range. The paper deals in detail with the latest circuit and scanning techniques, and a Section is devoted to new electronic services associated with television. Finally a description is given of possible television developments in the future.
