Rural development planning must rely on accurate and relevant information to support decision making. This paper describes development of a village information system to support decision making in selection of community development projects. The system allows userspsila retrieval of village profiles which combined the relevant information from various sources. A user survey was conducted to investigate user requirements. The study results confirmed that users normally use various information sources and available indicators to support their review and selection process. Some design approaches for the system and data store are presented. With the support information and system, users can define priority of projects more efficiently based on identified community needs and problems.
