To facilitate the co-allocation and co-scheduling of software and hardware resources in grid environment, a License-aware meta-scheduling engine was proposed. The License-aware schedule model was analyzed and three criteria including the license utilization, loss rate of average job completion time were defined for evaluate the performance of engine. We extend the heuristic scheduling algorithms from machine scheduling to software and hardware co-scheduling model, and evaluate the extended heuristic algorithms by simulation. These results demonstrate that the License-aware meta-scheduling engine can make the license utilization greater than 70% and keep rapid response time.
