A performance assessment criteria is put forward for the performance assessment of the output probability density function (PDF) control of the bounded stochastic system. The model of the output PDF is set up firstly, then the controller is designed to make the output PDF to trace the given shape so as to make the system to be a closed-loop one. The operating data of the closed-loop system are used to assess the control performance with the performance assessment criteria. Both the modeling, controller design and the performance assessment of the output PDF are applied to the simulation study of the output molecular weight distribution (MWD) control in a polymerization process.
