This paper deals with a new approach to the formal representation of enterprise information system, which is based on agent meshes (AM) and object-based knowledge meshes (OKM). To this end, concepts of an agent mesh and an object-based knowledge mesh are proposed as well as their mathematical descriptions. Then, the information transfer relationship mesh (ITRM) is discussed as well as its formal representation. And then, based on OKM and AM, the formal representation method and steps of enterprise information system are explored in detail. Finally the formal representation method is exemplified by the enterprise information system used in a plant, which shows the method to be very effective.
