Dallas microcontroller DS87C550 is code fully compatible with the 8051 family microcontrollers, being equipped with many integrated peripherals that make it suitable for embedded applications. Similar to other microcontrollers, the Dallas microcontroller programming environment lacks graphical user interface (GUI) capability. In this paper, we present an approach to endow the Dallas microcontroller with GUI capabilities by interfacing it with Matlab and by exploiting Matlabpsilas abundant GUI tools.
