Ensuring public security is an important issue for every government, and effective public security depends on the efficiency of criminal justice processes and procedures. The procedures of the criminal justice may be viewed as the upper-, middle-, and down-stream sections of a supply chain. Like their business counterparts, most law enforcement agencies have to deal with logistics, information flow, and cash flow. Currently, the Taiwan criminal justice system lacks efficient communication and cooperation, creating an information gap and decreasing the performance of public security. This study explores the problems and gaps in the procedures of Taiwan criminal justice, delineating the advantages of an Integrated Criminal Justice Data Base System (ICJDBS) based on the supply chain management model.
