Ultra wide band (UWB) systems based on impulse radio have the potential to provide very high data rates over short distances. This paper presents the analysis of an UWB multi-band on-off keying (MB-OOK) transceiver in the 6-8.5 GHz band, and the simulations of the non uniform filter bank using BAW (bulk acoustic wave) technology. The use of a BAW filter bank in the transceiver is analyzed with aluminum nitride film bulk acoustic resonators. Finally, system performance in terms of throughput, error probability and covered distance are estimated for the proposed architecture.
