In this paper, the compact ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with multiple notches (stopbands) is implemented based on a back loaded multi-modes substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity and associated with L-type resonators. Three sharp notches at 2.4 GHz, 3.5 GHz and 5.8 GHz are achieved in simulation and also experiment, which can then be applied in the UWB communication systems with the anti-jamming ability or low interference ability to other wireless systems, such as the 2.4 GHz WLAN, 3.5 GHz WiMax or 5.8 GHz WLAN etc.
