The use of split-ring resonators (SRR) to realise novel waveguide filters with multiple stopbands is reported. Dielectric slabs printed with arrays of metallic SRR elements are attached to the two sidewalls of a rectangular waveguide. Arrays of differently sized SRRs are interlaced over the shared surface of a dielectric slab to achieve multiple stopbands. Numerical and experimental results are presented.
