The optimization of a large finite in size hard surface on the bottom face of a parallel-plate waveguide, by using a full- wave code based on the method of moments and the CG-FFT method, is presented. The objective is to achieve quasi-TEM propagation within the guiding structure, proposed by the authors, to feed a slot array.
