In this paper, we study the dynamic multicast routing problem for WDM networks with sparse light splitting. We propose a hybrid multicast algorithm based on the combination of mobile agent technique and genetic algorithm. Simulation results based upon the ns-2 network simulator indicate that the proposed algorithm significantly outperforms the available algorithms in terms of blocking probability.
