An experimental relationship between the bit error rate (BER) of a release '99 wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) baseband modem and the error vector magnitude (EVM) due to analogue amplitude/group delay distortions in zero-IF channel filters is presented. The reported data eases system design in choosing the best trade-off between adjacent channel power rejection and optimum BER performance in designing channel filters in zero-IF receivers for WCDMA.
