In this paper, low-order and static anti-windup control laws are used to enhance the performance of an 802.15.4 wireless sensor network. 'Real world' conditions are explicitly considered in the modelling phase using Kotz's axioms. Anti-Windup techniques are shown to improve system performance in the face of naturally occurring input controller saturation. Joint Quality of Service and optimal network power loss is demonstrated through simulation and verified practically using a mote based network.
